Miami Beach welcomed a familiar talent back to the neighborhood earlier this year. Chef Kira Volz, of the acclaimed Abbey Hotel, along with a handful of her loyal staff and admiring local clientele, relocated seven blocks north to the Indian Creek Hotel. Kira and Andrew, her Dining Room Manager, had a soft opening for their eclectic venture Creek 28 in December. Kira, who honed her culinary skills in the Pacific Northwest successfully pursued two of Seattle's top renowned hotspots; Marcos Supper-club and Nell's Restaurant. A necessary commodity to both establishments, Kira decided to leave the notorious rainy state for the glamorous sunshine state. Having 15 years of experience in the hospitality field, Chef Volz continues to create authentic inspired menus. International recognition of Kira's celebrated cuisine presented her with an opportunity to be a guest chef abroad Cunard's flagship liner Queen Mary II, in the fall of 2004.
